Join us for Mahjong Open Play @ Grace Restaurant in Downtown Mobile. Max attendance is 40 (10 tables) so be sure to RSVP. Grace has many delicious lunch and drink menu options to choose from $10-up. (menu can be found online) If you are *not* planning to make a food or beverage purchase while you play, or if you won't be placing a to-go order on your way home, please change your RSVP to "Not going" so I can offer the seat to players willing to support this local restaurant. We will stagger food order times as follows- Food Order Time Tables 1-4 11:10 Tables 5-7 11:30 Tables 8-10 12:00 ***Mobile Mahjong Cancellation Policy*** Cancel in Bam Good Time at least 24 hours before the event if you can no longer attend. Players who repeatedly cancel less than 24 hours before an event will (1) be contacted directly by Rachel (2) lose priority for future events and (3) will be moved to the bottom of the waitlist if an event fills. Waitlisted players who regularly attend events on time and have a history of reliable attendance will be given priority over players with repeated late cancellations. We understand that emergencies and unexpected situations happen. This policy is intended to address repeated patterns of behavior, not occasional unavoidable circumstances. If you have never played mahjong before, let me help you find an upcoming mahjong 101 class so you can begin joining our free open play events. --I'm a beginner and still require guidance while I play. Should I come? We are beginner friendly and players are grouped by experience level however, open play events are best for players who can play independently without guidance. If you feel you need more instruction before joining, a 102 guided play class might be best before attending. --Do I need to bring mahjong supplies? Bring your NMJL card and a small side table for your drinks/food. We typically crowd source supplies and have more than enough sets of tiles and cards for everyone. Don't worry if you don't have any mahjong supplies. Anything else I should know? I will request tile bringers the day before. Tile bringers please bring tiles, mat and racks along w/ a table lamp if you have one. Tables are 36by36in. The owner is graciously letting us reserve event space at no charge, so let's reciprocate their graciousness by ordering food/drinks while we play.
