Join us for a free mahjong open play event at the araland Chicken Salad Chick. Max attendance is 24 (6 tables) so be sure to RSVP. You may want your small side table. They’re giving us their party room AND letting us in before they even officially open. 🙌 We can start placing orders at 10am when they open for business. They have an app so you may want to download it ahead of time so you can skip the line and order from the mahjong table all while getting points for your order! **They do not sell coffee so they said we can bring in a cup of coffee if we want BUT they will have water and other fountain drinks, tea, lemonades for purchase available at 10 when they officially open for business. If you are *not* planning to make a food or beverage purchase while you play, or if you won't be placing a to-go order on your way home, please change your RSVP to "Not going" so I can offer the seat to players willing to support this local restaurant. **Mobile Mahjong Cancellation Policy** Cancel in Bam Good Time at least 24 hours before the event if you can no longer attend. Players who repeatedly cancel less than 24 hours before an event will (1) be contacted directly by Rachel (2) lose priority for future events and (3) will be moved to the bottom of the waitlist if an event fills. Waitlisted players who regularly attend events on time and have a history of reliable attendance will be given priority over players with repeated late cancellations. We understand that emergencies and unexpected situations happen. This policy is intended to address repeated patterns of behavior, not occasional unavoidable circumstances. If you have never played mahjong before, let me help you find an upcoming mahjong 101 class so you can begin joining our free open play events. Private message Kristy Britt for help. --I'm a beginner and still require guidance while I play. Should I come? Open plays are best for players who can play independently without guidance. I recommend you join a "guided" play event first before coming to an open play. Send a private message to Rachel Helton for help finding a guided play event. --Do I need to bring mahjong supplies? Bring your NMJL card and a small side table for your drinks/food. You can purchase a small side table at "5 below" for $6 or on Amazon. We typically crowd source supplies and have more than enough sets of tiles and cards for everyone. Don't worry if you don't have any mahjong supplies. --Anything else I should know? Chicken Salad Chick is graciously allowing us to reserve their party room in the restaurant at no charge, so let's reciprocate their graciousness by buying a drink and/or food item while we play.
